Japanese ravamped it with hiragana and katakana to try to make it more useful. Mao's gang revamped it too, by simplification.

English is certainly a pain in the neck because of gross inconsistencies in pronunciation and other weirdness, but it's nevertheless much better than Chinese, and better than other options, partly because it's already used by such vast numbers of people around the world.

That's quite some prediction. Do you mean richest per capita or total wealth in the country? The 22nd century is so far away, that I don't think it's worth even guessing in regard to "national" entities.

I'd bet the cybercommunity will rule the world wayyyy before that. Probably within 20 years given the trends, let alone another 100 years. Okay, things seem to take longer than I think, so maybe it'll take another 40 years. I doubt it.
