OC-192 Rambus and Beyond
A somewhat long article but it states at least twice that companies producing chips for these network devices such as AMCC (which purchased MMC) and Vitesse (whihc is already integrating RDRAM into their offerings) will most probably need to turn to RDRAM. What does htis mean for Rambus? The beginnings of the mass communication chip market. Not only will this consumer RDRAM in memory but also a very large amount of RDRAM controllers at a royalty rate higher than the RDRAM itself.
