The reason that they have such high stock price is that they have such high margins. Is there any other company out there in the Fortune 1000 that has operating margins of 40%, and fully taxed profits of 25% of sales? A company that is growing annually at 45% during the last year, and has had long term growth of near 40%? Right now, I actually think that Microsoft is slightly underpriced (especially compared to Oracle). Microsoft has a license to print money because they keep costs under control and keep inventing new markets to exploit (or moving into existing markets in a major way).
