Does the Intergraph TD-225 have the SGI O2 whipped? Byte Magazine seems to think so. This issue they call the intergraph a "3-D breakthrough" that makes it the "most capable, professional-level 3-D machine we've seen at such an affordable price." (June 97, pg 42) This was written by David Essex, at dessex@bix.com. The $7741 machine is actually a bit more expensive than the O2 advertised in the same issue a dozen pages earlier ($7495). I notice Intergraph bought two pages of advertising, and produced an ad that looks much slicker than the SGI ad. They compare the two machines, using Viewperf and Viewset benchmarks, and the intergraph seems to have done almost twice as well. The benchmarks are based on Parametric's rendering software, and IBM's visualization data explorer. Anybody familiar with these benchmarks, or with the TD-225? As a deeply invested shareholder I'd be interested in hearing your opinions. Thanks!
