It's clear that the PSFT weenies don't get it. The many small companies solve only a piece of the problem, on a limited platform (server, desktop, dbms) set, with limited functionality and scalability. What VNTV, CLFY and SCOP do is solve the entire breadth of the problem, on many platforms, with lots of functionality and HUGE scalability. There must be something like 200+ man-years in development invested by each of the big 4 vendors. What do the PSFT guys think they know that all these other guys don't? I saw this type of thinking frequently when I was selling VNTV product - lots of customers thought they could knock out something in a long weekend. We always were there to pick up their pieces.
