Is intel paying too much per share?
Cash flows provided by (used for) financing activities:
(in millions) Nine Months Ended
Sept. 29, Sept. 30,
2001 2000
Repurchase and retirement of common stock (3,005) (3,006)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Nine Months Ended
Sept. 29, Sept. 30,
2001 2000

Weighted average common shares outstanding 6,721 6,709

Intel had to pay $3,005,000,000 dollars to buyers to get them to accept 12,000,000 shares?

They paid $3 Billion dollars and there are now 12 Million more shares outstanding!

Intel has had to pay $250.41 per share to get people to accept their stock!

Heck, I'll bet they'd only have to pay $200 or so, each, to get Paul to accept some more shares.

Intel stock must really suck if they have to pay $250.41 per share to get people to haul the stuff away...
