I have said that it makes sense to me that something of a people's experience of God is reflected in the Old Testament, but from the human, fallible side. I have also said that I am an agnostic about the main claims of the New Testament, not a believer, but someone who understands something about it and can sympathize with believers. I am well- aware that literal inerrancy is untenable, and that there are things that anyone with a refined conception of God would find difficult to swallow, in the whole of the Christian Bible........
