Recently, I saw a demonstration of a shell for Microsoft Windows NT. PC user could have everything from a full-blown system to a dumb terminal.
It was slick technology, right down to the fingerprint-enabled log-on. But it was also a bit creepy seeing the data-entry-clerk mode, in which a user clicks on the Start button and nothing happens. gcn.com
