Re: Ascend - forward looking Now that all the doom and gloom has been confirmed, there is new discussion that this is just a temporary problem and that the next quarter will be very good. Firstly, I believe Ascend's management lost a lot of friends on Wall Street, and by this I mean the brokerage firms and not the individual investor (though the latter may be arguable true). The original estimates were revised downward to a 0.31 mean, but this new lower estimate will still be missed by some ~38%, which in my opinion, makes the analysts and their brokerage firms look even more foolish. Remember...whether we believe them or not, analysts are the source of upgrades and downgrades which move a stock. Secondly, have there been any forward looking statements regarding future performance? From what Mory was quoted as saying, he just made comments on why the current quarter would be so poor... Is there any indication that the next quarter will see a change in operating environment, such that Japanese and European sales will rise?
