For the record, the U.S. was NOT energy independent during the Trump years. The U.S. uses about 20 million barrels of oil a day and only produces around 13 million. Of the 7 million shortage about 30-40% comes from Canada and about just over 400K from Mexico. 10% tariff on Canada's oil and 25% on Mexico's oil. Consider some refineries are only able to handle one type of oil. Say heavy crude. There will be shortages and price increases at the pump. Hope this does not spiral out of control. Farmers will get hit again, just like in Trump's first term. We could see inflation worse than the 1970s oil shocks. This could get really ugly. TWT. RDK
