The analysts can take a wait and see show me attitude.. but I think Sonus is already strongly telling us..."we are making strong steady and progress towards our principal goal of making Sonus an SBC centric profitable growth company. "

"As we see our strategy take root we feel very good about our future and now is the time to return except capital to our shareholders. "

Improvent in 4 key metrics:
Sbc revenue growth
New customers
Enterprise as % of revenue
Profitability.

And importantly: I found a statement supporting my earlier suspicion of what their competitive advantage is...

Abbott attributed Sonus' growing partner base to the fact that Sonus is one of the few SBC vendors on the market today whose technology is designed to support a range of UC applications.

"We are now really the only vendor-agnostic SBC player," Abbott said. "What I mean by that is that all the UC companies have an SBC -- Avaya does, Cisco does, Siemens does -- but the problem is that those SBCs are designed to enable their UC platforms to operate really well. They don't necessarily enable an enterprise with multiple UC environments, and large enterprises typically have a minimum of two or three."

Partnership and service will be extremely important through this decade long shift, along with a clear vision of how to enable legacy infrastructure and add new infrastructure.
