Hi Joe...About Q3 Announcement

Elmo obtained info from Investor Relations on 7/16/97 regarding earnings announcement which you can obtain by clicking on the earnings button at the top of each post. Basically that is what is there:

Earnings Date: August 22nd- After Market Closes

"Third quarter will be reported during the week of August 18th." As per E-mail received from Novell's Investor Relations on 7/16/97.
===================================================
First Call shows 8/22/97 as report date; so, the date may need fine-tuning as we approach the week of August 18th.
----------------------

On Friday 8/1, I called Investor Relations and obtained the info I posted.

>>I thought it was 8/18? Wasn't it originally 8/18? Did they push it to 8/20 or 8/21?<<

It was the week of 8/18. Typically, they reported earnings on Wednesday. I think 8/20 (Wednesday) or 8/21 is tied to Schmidt's schedule and there is nothing fishy here. The fact that they are reporting earnings one week earlier is positive IMO. Expect the stock to start moving up by the end of the week in anticipation of the earning annoncement. After the announcement, the stock typically goes down. It is tiring.

Regards

Salah
