I am thinking about doing the same thing for my Mom (freshening my Jetta's engine and giving the car to my Mom or younger sister). Mom has commented on several occasions that having more trunk space would be desirable. Mom doesn't like the idea of a minivan or SUV, she seems to prefer a car. The exterior is not quite cherry but still respectable for its age, the interior looks like new. A few months ago while at the wrecking yard I got a head assembly (with GTI cam and big valves) for only $25!!! When I finally do get around to rebuilding that engine it WILL go faster.
