EE Times
(06/07/2005 5:20 PM EDT)

SAN FRANCISCO — Texas Instruments Inc. Tuesday (June 7) narrowed its guidance for the second quarter, revising the bottom of its forecasted revenue range up slightly based on growing demand across a broad range of its semiconductor products and seasonal growth in educational calculators.

TI (Dallas) also revised its estimated earnings per share for the quarter upward to 27 to 30 cents. The company's previous forecast called for earnings of 25 to 29 cents per share.

TI said it now expects second quarter revenue to be in the range of $3.12 billion to $3.24 billion. The company had previously forecast revenue to be in the $3 billion to $3.24 billion range.

TI expects semiconductor revenue of between $2.65 billion and $2.75 billion, up from its previously forecast range of $2.55 billion to $2.75 billion.
