If interested in short, the place to be is deep inside the quarterly disclosures. Ascend may chalk up big sales (shipments) growth but there may be some question as to how much potential bad debt they are willing to carry to do it. Growth at any cost usually has a big cost. I know a few ISPs and none of them are great credit risks. Not statistical, but something to consider. Also, this stock is very volatile. Only go short if you have resources and lots of stomach for the ride.
