fishweed ....

overload on the video card is your problem ....
or a least that is what I've had explained to me ...

have had the identical problem several times in the past on several different boxes,
and
after spending more than I care to recall on various and sundry "repair methods" from multiple local sales/repair shops ... NONE for which the solution was satisfactory to me .. it seemed to "fix it" as far as the techies who were charging me for it but I was still unhappy ....

here is what I did .....

went to multiple monitors
upped the RAM to 256MB

and have had NO problems in several years now ....

Now, I have no idea that the explanation of vid card mem overload is a valid definition or not,
but,
I do know that my solution has worked for me
AND
for two of my trading buddies who were having the exact difficulty ...

we all upped the RAM and went to multiple monitors
and none of us has had this "scrambled multiple image" bug visit us since ....

hope this helps

Nemer

ps ...
I have only one box running this morning instead of my regular three
but
I currently have open ....
8 Explorer windows
1 Outlook Express window
1 trading screen *(non browser based Java)
1 steaming data screen *(browser based but not included in the Explorer window count)
