Jack this guy is the right guy for Novell

Look at it this way. You have two outsiders now at Novell with credentials in the JAVA world. The fact it has taken Schmidt this long to bring in somebody isn't a positive. But now there are two of them and that is positive. I wish Schmidt would put together a management team that expands his vision of the company. I expect Slitz will demand and get results. No more uncoordinated product releases and press campaigns. No more lack of attention to spin control. No more product lines doing their own thing without central coordination and focus. This guy is jumping on board because Novell is one of a handful of companies that can make real world JAVA apps happen. He understands the purpose of object oriented programming in a business environment. (see the IBM Visual Age product series).

The bottom line remains the same. They don't have time but they are going in the right direction. For them to get more time, they have to show the revenue results or prospects.

The stock is going up in the short term. Let's enjoy the blip while we can. How often does Novell produce good news for investors? Especially a run-up in price.
