Although I am am lefty Tom (if you hadn't noticed-lol) I fight with the left for just the reasons you state: Michael Kinsley, one of my favorite thinkers (editor of slate) said "liberals hunt down heretics and kill them". "Conservatives try to get heretics to join their cause." My leftist brothers and sisters have been hunting me down for years because of my open support for mining-lol. As Elton John said so nicely "I am still standing"-lol.
