Roll Call - Junk Lawsuit Penalties

-- Jayson
PoliPundit.com

As alluded to above, in that linked screed by Nancy Botox, the U.S. House today passed a bill imposing mandatory penalties on those who file frivolous lawsuits.

The roll call was as follows:

16 = Democrats in favor (8%).
212 = Republicans in favor (92%).

178 = Democrats opposed (88%).
5 = Republicans opposed (2%).

Totals: 228-184-21, in favor.

Pravda-Reuters’ version of events at the link below.

The bill now moves on to the U.S. Senate, in which there’s a significant chance of passage. Yes, of course, similar bills failed there in recent years. But keep in mind it took seven years for class action reform to get through and five years for bankruptcy reform. But they got through. Just like energy reform, firearms liability reform, and Rogers Brown, Owen, Griffith and Pryor got through. Just like ANWR drilling is about to get through too.

That’s what happens when people like Tom Daschle are removed from office.

If this junk lawsuit bill dies in the Upper Chamber, yet again, then the remedy will be to remove even more and more Senate Democrats over the next several election cycles.

Carpe diem.
