Like any large organization with a broad product base you have to take a snapshot of the company as a whole. Anti Virus is a small niche and not as strategic to this company as it would be to a niche player such as Mcafee. Symantec is the 2nd largest channel software vendor in the industry, which is a nice cushion for cash flow.

And as far as margins go, the margins for software retail sales are pretty signifigant if you look at it from the perspective of other industries.

I feel focusing just on Anti Virus in regard to the initial question of where Symantec stock is heading is to limited.
