Stating the Obvious Krugman is catching on the the Republicans strategy. Don't leave any money on the table for the Welfare Democrats to spend. Same thing happened to Clinton when he got in office, and found out that those "Damn Bond Traders" in New York would wreck things for him if he went on the spending spree he had in mind at the time.
