i asked my dr. if we could get on line lab results and changes to meds if required. no way. i was lucky to get his email address with warning. i get a ton of email from hospital and education articles from the college. it would be easy to miss an email best to continue with phone.

Tell your doctor to get a second e-mail address dedicated to patient communications only.

Plus you got an audit trail.

Maybe that's what he's concerned about.

I have a friend who is a family practice physician, and he givees out his cell number to his patients. He's busy, but enormously popular with his patients.
