I spend $9K (I include the 30% tax credit) and build a 5.6KW rooftop solar (13x400W panels) with 24.6kWh storage using EcoflowDPU with 4x 6.144kWh batteries. It powers the whole house and the EV car (Ioniq 5N) and only pay the $20/month minimum to the utility to have the grid around for those multiple consecutive deep black clouding days which, at least here in sunny arizona, haven't happened in years. The system will pay back in less than 3 years ($2500/year in gas savings alone).
