Exactly. The security before 9/11 wasn't all that bad either, else they would have had guns instead of knives. Ok, they need to do a lot to take care of the possibility of smuggling explosives, but that is the biggest weak point. And even that isn't all that bad if he had to put C4 in his shoes to get through.
