I told one of the guys in our Information Technologies Department about JAWZ and its 4069 bit key encryption. To make a long story short, he laughed. So, I told him about the $5,000,000 challenge and he laughed louder. He wasn't even interested in knowing the company's name or it's stock symbol. PCs Crack DES Code In 22 Hours
(01/20/99, 1:35 p.m. ET)
By paul schindler, TechWeb

Code-cracking technology is relentlessly rendering the
federal 56-bit Data Encryption Standard less secure.
Last year, it took 56 hours to break the code for the
annual RSA Data Security DES Challenge. This year,
100,000 PCs working together on the Internet cracked
the DES in 22 hours and 15 minutes. The machines
were using brute force -- testing 245 billion keys per
second -- when they broke the code.
