You know, it's only recently I even learned that Canadian companies offered DRIPs! I don't think either of Carlson's books mentioned them, and I also don't recall seeing any mention in DRIP Investor. I stumbled across a page from R-M Trust Company recently, and asked them to send me information about plans they administer that are available to US residents. Northern Telecom is one of their DRIP/SPP's, but not available directly to US investors, at least from what I saw initially.

There are quite a few US ADR companies that are available as DRIPs, and getting to be more, but up to this point I personally haven't owned them; most appear to violate my rule of "no service fees." I am not really a typical xenophobe Yank, but one couldn't tell it from our DRIP holdings alone.

E*Trade only charges $5 for registering shares out? That sounds really good -- how long did it take for you to receive your shares?

Regards,

Rick
