Smith Micro Software Announces Bundling Agreement with Compaq Computer
Compaq will Bundle Smith Micro's VideoLink Mail 2.0 Software with its Industry-Leading Presario Family of Desktop PCs
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Smith Micro Software announced today that Compaq Computer will begin bundling Smith Micro's VideoLink Mail 2.0 software with several models of its popular Presario family of desktop PCs. The agreement begins as of May 1998.
The VideoLink(C) Mail software package enables Windows 95 and Windows NT users to easily record a video and audio message and then attach it to their everyday e-mail for distribution over the Internet. Compaq's Presario family is widely recognized as one of the industry's top selling PC product lines within both the Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and home computer markets.

With VideoLink Mail, users can send audio/video messages to anyone capable of receiving e-mail on a Windows-based PC, because a VideoLink player is included with every file. All users need to do is create a personal message, embed it with the player in a Windows .EXE file, and then attach it to their e-mail.
The Compaq Presario family of notebook, desktop, and mini-tower PCs combines useful innovations for the Internet Age with intuitive designs. The resulting Presario products bring arcade quality graphics, high-fidelity stereo sound, ultra-fast Internet access, videophone capability and fast Pentium processors to the home PC at affordable prices.
Smith Micro's VideoLink Mail was recently awarded Intel certification for better performance when running with Intel's Pentium(R) II processor.
