Truman and all you other believers in the objectivity of the Washington Times and WSJ:

Get a hold of yourselves...the world as we (you) know it is not
comming to an end. The country will survive Clinton, just as it survived Bush (Quayle), Reagan, Carter, Ford, and yes Nixon and
Johnson.

I have been a registered Independant since I was old enough to vote.
I don't think the executive branch of the government has distinguished
itself the past 30 years no matter which party held the office.

Names like Haldeman and Ehrlichman, Agnew and Meese, Lance and Morris,
North and Connally, don't seem to lend themselves to a legacy of noble
accomplishments. Both parties have their fair share of skeletons in their closets.

Both parties have been playing to the perceived television mentality
of the american electorate for many years....see Joe MacGiniss (sp)
"The Selling of A President" . Possibly the electorate is getting
wise to the strategy. The conventions this year seem to have been
non events.

I may be in the majority, a non-partisan independent who sees flaws
and hypocrisy in both parties. Most of the "unenlightened" average
Janes and Joes are turned off by both parties. If any of you more
cognizant political observers can give reason for dispelling the
widely held feeling that BOTH parties are beholding to moneyed interests (mostly corporate), step up to the plate.
