So, you think that calling someone an "evangelical" is an insult? Is that what you meant by my "damning" him? Good grief. Calling him an "evangelical" is no more an insult than calling a furry creature that purrs a "cat." It's a perfectly respectable label.

not out of the mouth of anyone who considers "evangelicals" to mean wild eyed, crazy people.

And now you want me to prove he's an evangelical? Bush is widely considered to be an evangelical by evangelicals. Surely you don't think they're "damning" him.

Richard Land is a director of the conservative evangelical Southern Baptist Convention and is a friend and adviser to President Bush. -- "He also discusses Bush's "overtly evangelical" expression of his faith..."

Amy Black is assistant professor of politics at Wheaton College, Illinois, a leading evangelical liberal arts institution -- "So the president, coming from an evangelical perspective..."

FALSE CONCLUSION, IMO: it's simple logic to conclude that Bush believes that We know nothing of the sort, unless we hear Bush himself say that. Not something someone else says that he said.

LOL. If you can't trust prominent evangelicals to identify an evangelical, whom can you trust? Only Bush himself? I repeat --"good grief!
