There have been a number of TV documentaries on this sort of thing in Zimbabwe and South Africa in the last several years. Seems that the initial situation when the white gov'ts ended wasn't that bad, but since then the countries have developed the sorts of gov'ts pretty typical of Africa- -arbitrary, capricious, and usually military dictatorships. The current situation on the continent was predicted back in the '50s and '60s when the European empires were being dismantled. Now it's time to pay the piper.
