I think in the case of analysts, as much of Wall Street, 'tis better to fail unremarkably than to outperform remarkably. Also, all who do not have analysts in their back pocket should keep in mind that analysts work for the benefit of their paying clients, not the nonpaying public.

BTW, w/r/t the alleged "conspiracy" from Friday, my quibble has to do with the extreme unlikelihood that a group of unrelated parties could orchestrate the scenario alleged; it was not meant as an indication that I lack cynicism toward the public pronouncements of sell-siders. This species I trust no farther than I can throw them. But I also believe mass conspiracies are very hard to pull off, and such talk on threads seems more an abreaction than a lucid consideration of events.
