There's no doubt in my mind whatsoever that the investment banks are pure whores. When I was getting in on IPO's, it was understood that I must buy more shares after they are public, and that I must invest in secondary offerings. That's just the way they work. Nevermind that the public offerings were in very, *very* limited supply, thus making a high price inevitable. What really bothers me though is that these firms tout the stocks like they were the thing to buy, giving them Strong Buy ratings even after they rose 400% above their IPO price... the IPO price which was supposably set according to its value as judged by the very same investment bank! I never, ever trust analysts. That's why we're here... to do our own research.
