How can Zip replace the floppy if you can't boot off it?
The new internal IDE Zip is non-bootable because it can only
be configured as IDE slave. The internal SCSI Zip still is
limited to SCSI IDs 5 and 6. (this information from Iomega's
home page)

So you still need your floppy to boot from if your bootable
hard disk goes bad. And you still need a bootable hard disk.

(the above is intended to apply to PCs, I believe a Mac *can*
boot off SCSI IDs 5 and 6)
