Glenn,

You should do a traceroute to see how many hops removed you are from
the SI server. They are only 2 (high speed) hops from the MCI backbone
as am I. My route is pretty much the same from my office, and response
time is more or less the same regardles of time of day. I must say
that my access has improved since my ISP setup a more direct gateway
to the MCI backbone. They also have a SprintNet gateway - which means
that I'm more likely to get a shorter route to any given host.
