The fundamental value of a currency IMHO is based on:

1 Political & economic stability
2 Balance of trade
3 Current & projected inflation rate in that currency
4 Current & projected interest rate
5 Current & projected business conditions
6 Proximity to US (actual & trade wise).

Essentially you need to obtain positive return over real inflation... and prospects for handling down turn s/b ok w/o getting sucked in to US issues.

IMHO Euro Ok, but CHF has longer track record of stability & more transparent CB. Lower inflation rate, less problems for CB to manage, & should keep up w/ euro as are in same trading block...

Just my opinion.
