Donald, The standard of human decency is more than just a consensus of opinion. It is at the core of every human being. A man asks himself--"how do I want to be treated by my wife?" His answer: I want her to respect me, love me, treat me with kindness & consideration, and be pleasant to me in good times and bad. Well, the answer is the same when a woman asks herself how she wants to be treated by her husband. If an individual has such a terrible time understanding & convincing themselves that wife beating(or childbeating or even animal mistreatment)is wrong, they should speak to a minister or doctor or psychiatrist about this. They'll get the answers they need if they look for them.
