On behalf of all Canadians, I feel the need to apologize for the likes of Land Shark and pocotrader. I have no real excuse for them, other than to point toward the failures of our education system and the steady drip of political indoctrination. Neither of them seems to grasp a basic truth: if the United States were not directly south of our border, providing both protection and economic lifelines, we’d likely be speaking Mandarin right now. Their bitterness has nothing to do with Trump. it’s just sour grapes from people who have rarely ventured beyond their own little backwaters. Land Shark hails from the bustling metropolis of Brooks, Alberta, while poco lives in the decaying slums of Vancouver. They cling to the fantasy that our mediocre, underfunded universal healthcare system is “free,” and from that, they conclude that Canada is hundreds of times better than the U.S. Reality, of course, tells a different story. The truth is, their opinions are weak. Pathetic. Small-town thinking. And it’s really embarrassing that they pretend to speak for Canadians.
