The boomers are far more sheepish about the whole thing: They know it's a scam that's on the short list for greatest financial fraud in history. But, to a great extent, many of them want to keep the illusion from collapsing while they cash out by ripping off the following generation. The post-boomers have no illusions at all about the program. They are gradually becoming empowered, as they figure out that paying taxes and not voting amounts to tribute to an oppressor. The boomer support for the current system, while strong, has never (and never will) reach 50% in that group. Combined with the gradually-more-aware subsequent generations, there is a major force of electoral power forming on the horizon. Whichever party manages to get in front of it first will be able to pose as leaders for a good part of the rest of the new century...
