Hi Paul! ... haven't been keeping current with NOVL or email recently, too many other more pleasant things to do ... next week I'm going to see the 'real' Magic School Bus with my youngest daughter.

I did notice some comments about Java, and Novell's plans etc. I've been having several conversations with Novell's Developer relations department about this topic. I belive they told me that they will make Sun's Java Development Tools available for subscribers to their Developer Assistance program (includes me now) ... and that the specifc concerns that I had raised with them about run time issues that affect development (eg profiling, performance monitoring, crosslock detection, etc) are being addressed ... I expect to get a copy in September ...

SO ... it looks like they seem to be on top of the Java development issues. I'm also asking questions about the integration of Oracle and the WebServer ... haven't gotten the same kind of encouraging answers to these concerns yet ... but they do seem to understand what I'm asking about ... talking with these folks is a big improvement on talking to the 'sales' folks about 'IntraNetware for Small Business' way back in February ... these people seem quite competent and capable to me ... definitely much better than the 'technical support' from MSFT (yes I belong to their DAP as well ... and IBM's) ... seems like good things are about to happen.
