Flights of Fancy on the Left

Power Line

Newsweek columnist Eleanor Clift goes around the bend this week. She urges Dems not to filibuster Judge Alito, since they can't succeed. The filibuster, she says, should be saved just in case "that awful day arrives when the most liberal member of the court, John Paul Stevens, 85, steps down while Bush is still president."

What Clift is really interested in, though, is impeaching President Bush. Really. She thinks Harry Reid's locking the Senate doors was a pivotal moment in American history, like, say, the Boston Tea Party. The fantasy-based community is in full swing; Clift isn't worth a fisking, but she's worth reading to observe the far left's dream of regaining power. As usual, the left's preferred approach doesn't involve the inconvenient necessity of actually winning an election.
