Hey Ron, do not even think about it. Do yourself a favor and walk away ... Templeton's Mark Mobius has been at it for years, pretty fruitlessly for long stretches.

A-share (for locals) ... high liquidity (always buy and sell), but low volume
baby.boom.com.hk

B-share (for int'ls, may be purchased through full service brokers) ... low liquidity (at times no buy and sell), but higher volume
baby.boom.com.hk

RMB 8.3 = US$ 1.0

Do not know market cap as yet. HK broker recommendations are mostly negative (4.5, w/ 5 being absolutely negative). Such info, along with P/E etc are not meaningful metric for DD. Instead, got to sign on to the underlying concepts ... WTO, megacity, financial, auto, electronics, chips and fashion center to 1.2 billion folks, etc etc.

I had owned the Lujiazui B-share during the past glory days when the cover of Far Eastern Economic Review had a cover photo showing policeman raising bamboo cane to keep punters in order at the Shenzhen stock market's IPO queue. Very vivid image that sizzled and electrified.

I get to see a lot of bubbles from out here, and can not wait for the coming week of almost round the clock parties, hikes, boat outings, and BBQs, where everyone gets to talk about their dreams and fears.
