When things seem to be going the way you just describe above the rhetoric escalates

Of course. We SHOULD be escalating the rhetoric at this time, so there is no misunderstanding on the parts of Iraqis. "If you don't come totally clean, you are bringing a war on yourselves".

This is pretty obvious. I think the real question is whether the Iraqis think we're bluffing.

It's been shoved down it's throat under threat...is this not what we wanted? A new resolution, inspections, a declaration. We are getting them.

What we WANT is Saddam OUT. It appears we may have to settle for less, i.e., weapons inspectors.

I don't believe you understand the process. If they don't TELL us where the WMD are, we have no way of finding them. So a little heated rhetoric at this time, letting them KNOW we have some intelligence on the matter, only makes sense.

Again, you've yet to credit Bush with what can only be considered a major foreign policy accomplishment, so I'm not sure why I think you could be convinced of anythng else.
