The article Joe referred to in PCWeek....buyout time ?

".....Word out of Somers, N.Y., is that IBM is about to
formally announce its "Bluebird" operating system, the
small-footprint follow-on to Warp that off-loads client
processing to the server. Execs told the Katt during a
recent daylong briefing that the OS is on track to ship
before the end of the year.

Those execs weren't quite as willing to comment on the
latest acquisition rumor, this one coming out of
Germany--that IBM is finally close to consummating its
much-speculated deal to purchase Novell, and was
already drawing up a draft of the press release
announcing the buyout".
