One more thing, Wharfie, just to put another cherry on top of the huge "Trump is a fukkin' idiot" cake.

Trump wants India to stop buying RuZZian oil. He thinks that will help bankrupt PooTin's war chest.

But that's NOT what the oil price cap is supposed to do. Like I told Bill, we chose a price cap over an oil embargo. We don't want RuZZia to stop producing oil. We just want RuZZia to not profit from it. That's by design.

If Trump tells India to stop buying RuZZian oil, RuZZia will simply find other buyers for it.

But nope. In comes Trump, who thinks he can bully Modi into nominating him for the "Noble" Peace Prize. He blames Modi for keeping the war going, even though he is (for the most part) following the rules and buying RuZZian oil at or below the price cap.

And even if India is reselling the oil (or the refined products from said oil) and pocketing the profits, the whole point of the price cap is to ensure that anyone but PooTin keeps those profits.

If Trump really wanted to bankrupt RuZZia, he'd advocate for lowering the oil price cap to $50/barrel. Then he can start playing Judge Dredd on RuZZia's shadow fleet (although sinking an oil tanker will cause a much bigger ecological disaster than sinking a cocaine ship).

But nope, Trump does Trump things, and we all have to pay the price for his utter st00pidity.
