On the other hand, they may turn out to be like the dog who caught the school bus and doesn't know what to do with it. In which case, they'll start another war.

It's a lot different when you are running things. I expect them to keep up the local rhetoric while dealing with the Euros and the Israelis. Now that they are out in the open it will be a lot easier for Israel to target leaders if they keep up the terrorism.
