We will found out within a few days how much above baseline are corona deaths.

According to this:

New York state has about 155,000 deaths every year, which is about 425 a day. About two thirds of that is in New York city, so say 300/day.

Yesterday, New York state reported 680 corona deaths in a single day worldometers.info

That is 255 above normal (60% above baseline) even if it is assumed that all deaths in New York state were reported as corona related. If all the impact is over a few weeks, maybe averaged over the year it may not be too much above baseline. But it is going to be way over baseline for next two weeks.
