Frank,
I'm a big believer in Mikey too and hope that you're right about the continued ramp into and after earnings. I think the NASDAQ is due for a rally and the bellwhethers will lead that rally when it happens which I hope starts Mon. Most of the $$ I have I made in INTC/INTCW (95-96), DELL (97-98), AOL (Nov98-) and recently MSFT (Jan19 at 155). I love DELL and will probably be buying it bigtime but only AFTER earnings when it begins its recovery.
You see I love the stock but HATE the way the momentum traders always run it up before earnings and then dump it no matter how good the earnings are. I was 200% DELL going into the last report and got clobbered because I held thinking that they were going to blow out the est and continue higher. Wrong!
All I'm saying is I've seen this act before and I know how it ends. Everybody is all hyped right now about how DELL is going straight to the moon. Make no mistake DELL is ramping on hype right now, not because all of the sudden everyone has just realized that things are tremendously better than they were a few weeks ago. All that hype will evaporate Feb 17. and after all the daytraders dump it and it consolidates for a while I'll have some cash ready to buy it again. If I'm going to get in I like to be in about a month prior to the earnings date to take full advantage of the ramp. I missed it this time because I was already fully invested in AOL and MSFT. IMHO there's not enough left before earnings to make it worth while and there's no way I'm holding it past FEB. 16 as I'm just too cynical about the fickleness of the market especially toward DELL.
Regards,Lee
