Your graciousness ended with your thank you. Obviously the information supplied did not fit in with your (and others') preconceived notions as to what reality is for Ascend.

You have your Ascend scenario and they (Ascend) have theirs. The truth will out in time and it's my guess (and it is a guess) that Ascend's version will be proven to be "fact".

If they had wanted to provide hard numbers on the chipsets I'm sure they'd have given them in the posting. Nobody is going to hand out trade secrets to satisfy the wonderings of any or all us on SI so to raise questions when you know you're not going to get answers serves what purpose? Your questions had a "nyah, nyah, nyah" quality to them, IMO. Get real, please.

Sorry, the field trials stuff was in response to another post.

As I said, time will tell and it won't be that many months. As for the wisdom of upgradeable firmware I've put my money where my mouth is - I bought 2 Winmodems last year. I certainly did buy the concept.
