bearcatbob, by the way i am reading very recently about various refineries on the east coast planning to shut down or try to sell the refineries soon. do you think it is just due to the high price of brent crude causing a very narrow crack spread and making gasoline essentially breakeven or unprofitable?

i keep thinking to myself that perhaps these guys are forward thinking. perhaps they see some competition from cng/lng in the next year or two that makes gasoline even less profitable. if yes, it would be better to sell now rather than wait for lower prices for a refinery. of course this is all idle speculation on my part.
