GV "only reason for investing in DELL" don't think anyone will argue against your analysis. but, wouldn't you agree that you're better at dissecting "would could and will go wrong" versus "would could and will go right"? i suppose better investors are like you. there are many, many things that could go wrong with Dell. it seems the larger a company becomes the greater the probability of and increase of small errors. but, to what extent will Dell's larger picture (doing things right) compensate for the errors? Dell's model, according to Michael, allows for quick adaptation and change. if the world is doing a complete technological makeover (from switch based to packet based data), according to Gilder, to what extent will Dell be prepared to meet that challenge? soros stated that it only takes one big win to compensate for many small losses. is there a big win in Dell's closet? i trust to God there is. i don't think Michael is that stupid to avoid all the big wins in the changing environment...
